Comparing Lipsticks for Cool Skin Tone

I adore red lipstick. Red lipstick doesn’t adore me, however.
Maybe I just haven’t found the right shade.
I tend to want to wear bright hot red shades on my lips but am always disappointed that the effect is less than grand. I look washed out! I look a bit too done-up.
My stash of lipsticks and glosses grows monthly and I have yet to find the perfect shade.
My dearest beauty consultant, Martia, has been a priceless help to me when it comes to my makeup/hair/self care. For over 12 years, she has advised me on hairstyles that best suit my natural hair growth pattern (also to never part down the middle of the head), how to avoid wearing certain colors (she taught me that I’m a cool and should lean toward blue/purple toned things), and how to be proud of my full and bushy brows.

I’m going to try out LipSense lip colors soon and will update as soon as I do! They claim to last ALL DAY with no smudging or wear off. I’m excited!

I thought I’d share a few different color combinations of lip sticks/gloss for anyone who may interested to see different colors on a cool skin tone!

Lipsticks/Glosses I used:
Mary Kay Golden Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss
Mary Kay Beach Bronze Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss
Mary Kay Mango Tango Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss

The only way I can get my lips to show red, regardless of the color of lipstick, is to put foundation on my lips before the lipstick or gloss. Something in my lip make-up, so to speak, turns red to orange.
    Good luck!
