Week 34 Stats (Baby 2.0)

How Far Along: 34 weeks.
First pregnancy’s post from within this week!

Baby size and random info: (thanks to Alpha Mom)

Your Baby:

  • Weighs as much as your average cantaloupe (4.75 pounds-ish) and is almost 18 inches long.
  • Reaching the 34-week mark is a big milestone for anyone concerned about pre-term labor, as babies born at this stage usually do just fine (provided they’re otherwise healthy). Other than a slightly longer stay at the hospital, they generally don’t experience any of the long-term health problems that prematurity can cause.

Symptoms: Such an active baby! She loves to hang out near my ribs. She kicks and moves and punches all throughout the day. I love feeling her move, but boy howdy does she cramp up my stomach and intestines. I am usually uncomfortable because she moves so much and is up so high. Still have heartburn and my swelling has been pretty bad lately. Been very tired!

How I’m feeling: Feeling a bit tired and quite like a whale.

Week’s highlights: We visited Kansas! We drove last week and returned yesterday. It was about a 24 hour trip. The scenery was beautiful and Daphne really behaved well on the road. We were all just tired by the end of it. Sam showed Daphne the train in Kansas, about which she was less than impressed. That surprised me. We had her birthday party as well. She is a mover and didn’t want to sit still!

Boy or Girl? Girl

Cravings: Just food aversions. I eat a lot of toast and bananas. Water is starting to taste funny to me.

Worries/Concerns: Swelling. Staying hydrated. Weight Gain.

Goals and to what I look forward: Baby will be here SO SOON!! Having another little kiddo to distract me has made this pregnancy go by so fast. I think we have everything we need prepared. I’ll probably get a hospital bag packed this week and make sure we have everything we need. Sam will be busy at work during the week, so I am sure the weekend will be a welcome treat.
