Changes in Appearance:

Chubby little thighs, chubby cheeks, and chubby little fingers. I love it. The dimples in her knuckles have got to be the most darling thing I’ve ever seen. No teeth cutting through yet. Growing more hair–sandy reddish blond in color.

Likes:

Spinning around in circles, ‘ooga boogah’ noises.

Mock sneezes. Dancing. Going outside. When we grab her belly/chest and shake gently and make giggle noises. Tongue clicking noises, Running water, Watching the dogs play fetch or fighting, Laughing at herself in the mirror, Fart noises on her feet and tummy, Waking up in the morning to a smiling face, Being faced outwards, Looking at herself in the mirror, Sam’s voice and weird noises, Being whispered to, She still likes being swaddled a night, Loves her paci, Fart noises, the “ZZZ” sound as in Zipper or in me singing “Zippity Do Dah,” Looking out the front door at the rain and at cars passing by, Being around people and being held close, Sitting with me at the piano and listening to me sing and play, Chewing on her hands, Being bounced on the stability ball, Bathtime and warm water, Watching Pax and Ash play, Bicycle legs, Whistling noises (Sam has to do those…I can’t whistle)

Dislikes:

No new dislikes this week!

She is slowly starting to get antsy when we do slow airplane with her, She doesn’t like being stationary too long, Being set down when she doesn’t want to be (she prefers to be in our arms or in our laps), Laying on her back when she doesn’t want to be, even for diaper changes, Being parted from her pacifier, Air being blown in her face, Tummy time for more than a few minutes

New Milestones/Developments

Able to hold her own bottle, but is lazy most of the time. She’s figured out to tip it upwards if she wants more to drink…smart cookie. She’s standing with assistance and we’re working on sitting her up on her own. Has started blowing raspberries just recently (past few days) with no prior coaching. She mouthed her first ‘mama’ this week, but didn’t put voice behind it!

Worries with Milestones/Developments:

No rolling over still. Heat rash will be an issue this summer, I think.

Sleeping Habits:

Bedtime around 8/9, wake at 4 to eat, wake at 7 to eat, wake at 9 to eat, up for the day. Naps in the morning and mid afternoon for an hour or so.

Eating Habits:

My milk has dun dried up. She’s eating 6oz every few hours, sometimes eating a bit more food.

Thoughts about the past week:

Daphs is so laid back. She is just so chill. She was content in our arms most of the day today yet still enjoyed her alone time in the bouncer.

Her weight check was yesterday. She weighs 13lbs 9oz (+1lb 8oz gain from two weeks ago) and jumped from 11th to 26th percentile for weight. She is growing well and adjusting to formula.

Thanks to Sam and our friend Nick, the chickens have a more sturdy and larger chicken coop. YAY!

Daphs is my little companion. I look forward to her waking from naps so I can play with her and spend time with her. She really enjoys being outside to watch the flags fly, the cars drive, or the trees/leaves sway with the wind.

I am just SO stinkin’ excited for the day she can sit up on her own. A beach trip will be in order and she’ll get a taste of what it is like to sit on the beach.

I’ve been sitting her up next to me when I practice piano. I help her pound on the piano keys so she gets a feel for it. Startin’ her out early on music, you know.
