Whole Foods

Went to Whole Foods today to pick up some fresh veggies and fruit. I love shopping there but can’t stand the prices. It is justified by the fact that they support local farmers in addition to helping the poor gain business loans and credit in other countries.


While there, I stood in the vitamin aisle for ten minutes sifting through prenatal vitamins.There are so many to choose from! Some were in big bottles, some in small. Some had pretty wrapping and others were plain. Most were expensive, but contained well above the 100% daily serving value I was looking for.

After picking up my vitamins and produce, I came home and JUICED! I missed it this weekend when Sam and I went back to Kansas.

I wonder though, if taking vitamins is necessary for me. Afterall, I juice fresh fruits and veggies daily, nearly 8 cups a day. I’ll have to talk to my doctor.

  1. The important nutrients you’ll probably need to supplement while growing a baby are folic acid (!), iron, and zinc. Also keep an eye on your calcium as baby will steal yours if you’re not careful to get enough for both of you 🙂
